What these claims mean

0.00% VOCs: A genuine total absence of Volatile Organic Compounds, as defined by ASA ruling A17-396612. Many paints labelled "VOC-free" still contain up to 0.1% VOC. That is not zero.
Organic: Free of pesticides and herbicides, non-toxic certified, EN 71 toy-safety certified, and free from heavy metals.

VOCs ? How many brands of Zero VOC paint are there anyway ?

Answer, Only One = and its Lakeland Paints. So is that other brand of "Zero VOC" Paint not truly Zero VOC ? Probably not. Many are not what they claim to be. The Zero VOC Fib is that most other paints claiming to be Zero VOC & VOC-free aren't ! They say that for them, VOC Free means "not more than 0.1% VOC" - but its just Not true. The ASA says "VOC-free" means a total absence of VOCs in all products". (A17-396612). Lakeland Paint is Zero VOC – like the air in your home - and we are happy to send the certificates. Remember - If you want Truly Zero VOC certified paint, it Has to be Lakeland Paints.

“They call me 'The Canary' in my family. I am very sensitive to any chemicals, so diy was always very tricky. I always had to go away for a few days while my husband painted the house - but even then, the off gassing effects were considerable for weeks, sometimes months - even using organic clay paints left me wheezing and headachy. We have just moved house, and the new place needed painting throughout. Acres of walls and ceilings. I read the reviews on this and gave it a go. I was knee deep in this paint for 3 weeks and I am relieved and excited to report that I painted solidly for 3 weeks. I didn't get the usual headache, dizziness, wheeziness. I felt a little bit dried out that's all, but totally manageable symptoms and it means I can paint again, thank you!!! The paint itself is a dream to use. Very chalky, lots of colours. I used 'Bronte' and Antique White everywhere in an old farmhouse, and it suits the chunky walls a treat!! ”
